Providing specialist Bid & Project or Programme Management services BlackhatConsulting was borne through a desire to provide the highest levels of professionalism to a role often overlooked in many organisations, the role of Bid Manager. Utilising industry leading principles and practices including PRINCE2 and the Shipley bidding process. The founder has spent many years developing his skills as a bid & project manager within the high tech and emerging markets sector often working on new product development and introductions, more recently he has worked within the network infrastructure and security for public services.
A key influencer in several large organisations he has helped implement bid management processes and specifically focus on the bid manager role and associated skills to improve success rates at bidding. A member of the Association of Project Managers (APM) and of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP).
With a background in military aircraft propulsion systems Phil went back to university to gain a bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He then went on to work for QinetiQ (formerly DERA) at the Farnborough site (the origins of the Jet engine & the base of Sir Frank Whittle) fulfilling an ambition to work at the cutting edge of defence research and technology. It is here, after spending several years as a research scientist looking at fuel atomisation and combustion systems that he began his career as a bid & project manager, often working on new technology introductions and development.
